Letter from the President

Dear Northern Nevada Association Members,
Camacho

The summer has rushed past us, fall is here and winter is ahead. As the weather changes, we should take the time to get prepared. This can involve various aspects from vehicle maintenance, updating equipment to continuing education. When you are prepared to respond to an urgent issue, your confidence will make you successful.

We have had to move our lunch meeting dates to the first Thursday of the month to keep our current location, which seems to work out quite well. There was no September lunch presentation due to our annual bowling tournament.

This past October, our lunch presenter was Donna Stewart, Risk Services Consultant from Wells Fargo Insurance Services on Worker's Compensation and Disability. Prevention and communication with employees are key ways to control your exposure. Our sponsor for the lunch was Ringler Associates.

The November lunch presentation topic was Construction Defects, presented by Steve Castronova and Marshall Smith. As it was noted, you should be aware of the procedures to undertake a proper investigation to determine the exposure. The sponsor for the lunch was Intracorp.

There will be no December lunch presentation due the Holidays that are upon us so quickly. We will resume January 7, 2009 and will send you a reminder. Please accept our best wishes to you for a safe and happy Holiday season!

All of us should be very proud of our successful Bowling Tournament, this year dedicated to the Memory of Marshall Newman. Marshall was our past president and Care Chest board member. All 24 lanes were sold out, with great raffle prizes, food and drink. A good time time was had by all, check out the web site for photos.

CARE Thanks to the food Sponsor - All Sierra Environmental, Drink Sponsor - BELFOR Property Restoration and Trophy Sponsor - JM Environmental. A big thank you to all who provided the raffle and door prizes. As a result of this group effort, the Association presented to Patti Meals of Care Chest, a check for $1,000. In addition to that check, Reel Construction and First General Fire and Flood Restoration made direct donations to Care Chest.

They key to our continuing and future success is your participation in attending our monthly meetings and providing your suggestions for speakers and topics. See you at our next lunch meeting!!
