Letter from the President

Camacho Dear Northern Nevada Association Members,

Fall is here, the shots of cold weather are telling us to be prepared as the seasons change and move toward winter. We are preparing for our first October Lunch & Learn. As I noted before, our goal is for this association to provide an opportunity to continue our education. The response at the time of this newsletter has been very positive.

Bring your ideas and suggestions so we can tailor our future speakers to meet all our needs and address the challenges ahead.

With  team names of "Up Your Alley",  "Mal-Adjusted Adjusters" as well as  references to Wranglers, Angels and Devils, how can you not have a successful Bowling Tournament (more pictures), with benefit to Care Chest!  bowling tournament 2008

Thanks to the Gold Sponsor - Belfor Property Restoration;  Silver Sponsor - First General Fire and Flood;  Trophy Sponsor - Marriott Execustay. Care Chest  as well as others provided raffle prizes and my apologies as I do not have enough room for all the recognition.

"Up Your Alley 4", from First General Fire and Flood won for the second year in a row with a team score of 1408. "Belfor 3" from Belfor Property Restoration came in second place with a team score of 1387. Cleaning up the lanes was Belfor 7 with a score of 1023. I appreciate that my team was somewhere in the middle, only by pure luck. The best costumes was awarded to "Servicemaster Devils", running a close second was the Angels counterpart. I was told "Up your Alley 4" will be back next year to take top prize again, is that a challenge?

Thanks again to our dedicated board, who are doing an awesome job. Keep up to date with our web page, see you at the Lunch & Learn!

Lunch & Learn

We have great speakers lined up for Lunch & Learns in October and November. Both take place on the third Thursday from 12 noon - 1:00 p.m. in the Sun Room at The Brew House Pub and Grill - 6395 S. McCarran Blvd. (at Kietzke), Reno. We want to get in and out in an hour, so please be punctual. The board has decided to waive any non-member surcharges for these first two luncheons, so the cost is only $20 for anyone. Space is limited and both dates are filling up fast, so RSVP soon.

October 16, 2008 Topic: CYA: Cover Your Asbestos
Speaker: Noel Bonderson, Air Quality Supervisor of Permitting and Enforcement, Washoe County District Health Department, Air Quality Division

ike With fishing boats lost, coastal tourist areas flattened, and many homes and businesses as far north as Kentucky still without power, it will take months to determine Hurricane Ike's financial losses.

Risk Management Assessment Inc., which quantifies risks for insurance companies, estimated Ike's impact between $6 billion and $16 billion in insured losses.
