Speaker: Don M. Smith, Criminal Investigator, Nevada State Contractor Board
Topic: Fraud Investigation
Mr. Smith was born and raised in Fernley, Nevada. During his 23 years of service as a Trooper with the Nevada Highway Patrol, he specialized in investigation with over 600 hours of specialized training, and also performed four years of duty as a staff instructor for the NHP Academy in Carson City, instructing recruits and officers.
After retirement from the NHP he became a criminal investigator for the Nevada State Contractors Board, where he has been involved in over 1000 investigations that have included criminal investigations (both misdemeanor and felony), industrial regulation investigations, money owed investigations and a limited number of workmanship investigations.
